Hair mineral and tissue analysis has indicated that the effects of previous nuclear fallout have shown up here in Australian tests.

Hair mineral and tissue analysis has indicated that the effects of previous nuclear fallout have shown up here in Australian tests.  We are all affected by nuclear fall out events happening elsewhere on the planet (be they of Japanese origin, or depleted uranium bullets, etc). Nevertheless, there is no need to be alarmed - but acting after being affected is not as effective as guarding our bodies and preventing them from storing small amounts of radioactive particles. The earlier we start, the better.  These recommendations are not 100% foolproof - they are recommended to help get the odds on our side.

Lifestyle To Embrace

  • Yoga and Meditation for stress management, anxiety and stimulating the immune system whilst balancing organ function.
  • Daily exercise stimulates detoxification via the lungs and skin and produces many health-giving benefits.
  • Baths with magnesium, clay, dead sea salt, epsom salts & bicarb soda -
    • Bicarb soda - This common kitchen product was used in baths during the Chernobyl disaster to draw out radiation from the body.  Sodium bicarbonate binds with uranium and protects the kidneys from radiation damage - a good reason to use it as a cleaning agent within your home.  Like Epsom salts this is an economical, practical and relaxing way to detoxify the body of exposure from radiation.
    • Add Epsom salts and sea salt to your baking soda bath and soak for 20 minutes.
  • Dry skin brushing/daily exfoliation of the skin also removes any toxic build up.  The skin is the largest organ of the body and a major outlet for detoxification.
  • Saunas also use the skin as a detoxification pathway to motivate toxin removal.  Similar to exercising, perspiration allows the skin to excrete toxins and, together with the relaxation aspect of saunas, has the added benefit of stimulating the immune system.

Foods And Supplements To Embrace

  1. Increase your detoxifying and medicinal based foods by increasing your percentage of fresh foods.
  2. Reduce the toxic load on your body and in particular your liver by sourcing locally produced and, where possible, organic produce.
  3. Increase Kelp and Seaweed in your diet. Seaweeds help break down fatty deposits that can retain toxins and the mucilaginous fiber in seaweed helps to prevent the reabsorbing of radioactive strontium 90. Seaweed is high in iodine - the higher your iodine level the less radioactive iodine you will absorb. Seaweed can be taken supplementally as a tablet, capsule, powder or herbal medicine tincture (fucus). Iodine can be taken in supplemental form as well as dermally.  The Body Guard recommends initial dosing using both dermal (Lugol's iodine - under the feet) in addition to internal supplementation for three months and then monitor dermal supplementation at regular intervals to maintain levels. The Body Guard dose not recommend iodised salt as it is commonly treated with bleaching, includes anti coagulants, the beneficial associated minerals have been removed by refining processors, and additional salt in the western standard diet is linked to high blood pressure, oedema and heart disease.
  4. Include high chlorophyl foods (wheatgrass and barley grass) to strengthen cells, transport oxygen, detoxify blood and liver, neutralize polluting elements and stimulate RNA production.  A shot containing chlorella - 10% chloraphyll -  neutralises toxins from potential fallout. Chlorella and spirulina were used in World War II to help clear radiation exposure and flush radioactive substances, and were also used post Chernobyl by the Russians.
  5. Eat lower in the food chain to minimize chemical intake  (large animal products are high on the food chain - small fish are low)
  6. Consume whole grains with high fiber content that will bind to toxins and shorten intestinal transit time. High B6 found in whole grains nourishes the thymus and the vitamin E of whole grains increases the utilization of oxygen.  Buckwheat is a good example of an efficent grain that is high in rutin, protects against radiation and stimulates new bone marrow production.
  7. Sulphur rich vegetables like broccoli, cabbage and mustard greens increase glutathione levels which result in heavy metal detoxification and free radical neutralization.  Herbal medicines that also do this are: pine bark extract, green tea extract, grape seed extract, Haritaki (terminalia chebula) and dandelion root extract.  Glutathione can also be taken as a supplement.
  8. The Ayurvedic herb Ashwaganda - helps the thyroid cope with stress and it is the thyroid that is highly effective by radiation.
  9. High levels of Ginseng and Ginkgo protect organs from damage caused by radiation therapy.  These herbs are best prescribed by a Qualified medicinal herbal medicine Practitioner in a liquid extract form for efficient delivery of the appropriate level of herb and their active constituents.
  10. High levels of Fresh Coriander (also known as Cilantro) detoxifies heavy metals and radioactive material from the cells. This is a common detoxifying practice when having dental amalgams removed.  Two cups of fresh coriander leaf (not seed) per day are required to stimulate the removal of these toxins.   Use as pesto, as salad dressing and sauces.
  11. Zeolites - a naturally occurring family of minerals has been used after nuclear attacks to clean up water contaminated with radioactivity, as in the case of Chernobyl. . Zeolites neutralise neutron reactions and has been used as a detox agent for hundreds of years.  Zeolites are available as an oral supplement.
  12. Fulvic acid is formed as a byproduct of the decomposition of some fungi in the soil that helps plants absorb minerals more effectively.  Fulvic acid aids digestion, acts as an antioxidant, and helps your body purge toxic heavy metals. Alone, Fulvic acid doesn't contain nutrients as such.  However, it makes nurients more bio available.  Fulvic acid is generally taken as a liquid supplement.  Due to its ability to increase your body's absorption of minerals and trace elements, Fulvic acid can also increase elements that should only be taken in small amounts (cadmium, arsenic, mercury, selenium and zinc.  Too much can also have negative outcomes.  The use of farming chemicals reduces the amount of Fulvic acid in foods.  Where possible purchase organic and bio dynamic foods that are grown in soil in order to achieve fulvic acid from the food chain.  Blackstrap molasses and powdered Shilajit are readily available sources of Fulvic acid. Refer all supplementation to your natural medicine health practitioner.
  13. Iodine - As mentioned above iodine can be ingested in both supplemental (recommended) form, in foods (seaweed and seafood) and is a constituent of the herbal medicine tincture (fucus).  Lugols iodine can be used dermally (painted on the skin at night).  If the iodine receptor sites in the body are not filled with healthy giving sources of iodine, they are more available to be filled with radioactive iodine (from nuclear fallout).  As the majority of the population is already slightly iodine deficient this leaves an excess of receptors open to receive the radioactive iodine and leaves us susceptible to the negative consequences.  Please refer to you natural medicine health practitioner as caution is required in the presence of a Hyperactive thyroid.
  14. Reishi mushroom extract (Ganoderma lucidum) also known as red reishi mushrooms offer protection from radiation, and supports the liver and immune system by offering anti cancer benefits.
  15. Miso - accelerates removal of strontium and radioactive iodine together with other free radical scavengers.  Miso is a paste made from fermented soya beans and barley or rice malt and is commonly used in Japanese and macrobiotic cookery.  In 1945, at the time of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, Dr Tatsuichiro Akizuki, Director of Internal Medicine at St Francis Hospital was located one mile from the center of the blast.  He and his patients were placed on a strict diet of brown rice, miso, tamari , wakame sea vegetables, pumkin and sea salt soup.  Sugar and sweet foods in general were prohibited and as a result everyone in his hospital survived whilst many others did not. It was used post the American attack on Japan.  High dose vitamin C supplementation - Slow IV drip 25-50gm with 10cc of sodium bicarbonate forms part of an ideal chelation (detox) and has been known to reduce the side affects of radiation therapy in cancer treatment.  High dose vitamin C is best monitored in conjunction with your natural medicine health practitioner.  High level oral doses that are increased too fast may cause diarrhea.  Increase your doses gradually until your individual bowel tolerance is reached.
